Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Therefore prepare your minds for action, be sober and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ—
Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.
“Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his clothes, so that he doesn’t walk naked, and they see his shame.”
so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
“So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.
Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving;
Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God.
Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you.
But you be sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry.
