What HolyStudy is
HolyStudy is a collaborative Bible study platform that allows users to read Scripture, write personal study notes, and participate in verse-level community discussions. The service is provided as-is and is intended for personal and communal spiritual growth.
Your account
To use HolyStudy, you must create an account with accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
Your content
You retain ownership of all content you create on HolyStudy, including notes, comments, and other contributions. By posting content, you grant HolyStudy a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content within the platform as part of the service.
You agree not to post content that is:
- Hateful, abusive, threatening, or harassing.
- Spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation.
- Infringing on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Illegal under applicable law.
Community guidelines
HolyStudy is a space for respectful theological discussion. Users are expected to engage with one another charitably, even when they disagree. Personal attacks, trolling, and off-topic disruptions are not permitted. Moderators may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.
Study summaries
HolyStudy may provide study aids, contextual information, or summaries alongside Scripture. These are for educational purposes only and do not constitute theological advice. Users should consult qualified pastoral or theological counsel for matters of doctrine or personal spiritual guidance.
Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, your personal information (name, email, profile data) is removed. Your public contributions (comments, discussion replies) are anonymised and attributed to "[deleted]" to preserve the integrity of community discussions. This process is irreversible.
Privacy
Your use of HolyStudy is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
Admin access disclosure
HolyStudy administrators have access to user data for the purposes of moderation, support, and service maintenance. Admins can view your real identity regardless of your anonymity settings. Admin access is logged and subject to our internal policies.
Limitation of liability
HolyStudy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HolyStudy and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (if any).
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of HolyStudy after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of HolyStudy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.
