The Ten Commandments

If you love me, keep my commandments.

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. — read the full passage →

“Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.

You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”

Blessed are those who do his commandments,that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.

He said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting, unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”

He said to him, “Why do you call me good?No one is good but one, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and remain in his love.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.

But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;

Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
