Promise

the Lord is not slow in regard to the promise, as certain count slowness, but is long-suffering to us, not counselling any to be lost but all to pass on to reformation,

No temptation hath taken you--except human; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able, but He will make, with the temptation, also the outlet, for your being able to bear <FI>it<Fi> .

Having, then, these promises, beloved, may we cleanse ourselves from every pollution of flesh and spirit, perfecting sanctification in the fear of God;

may we hold fast the unwavering profession of the hope, (for faithful <FI>is<Fi> He who did promise),

through which to us the most great and precious promises have been given, that through these ye may become partakers of a divine nature, having escaped from the corruption in the world in desires.

Be not afraid, for with thee I <FI>am<Fi> , Look not around, for I <FI>am<Fi> thy God, I have strengthened thee, Yea, I have helped thee, yea, I upheld thee, With the right hand of My righteousness.

`And lo, I am going, to-day, in the way of all the earth, and ye have known--with all your heart, and with all your soul--that there hath not fallen one thing of all the good things which Jehovah your God hath spoken concerning you; the whole have come to you; there hath not failed of it one thing.

For I have known the thoughts that I am thinking towards you--an affirmation of Jehovah; thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give to you posterity and hope.

for as many as <FI>are<Fi> promises of God, in him <FI>are<Fi> the Yes, and in him the Amen, for glory to God through us;

for God did so love the world, that His Son--the only begotten--He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.

God <FI>is<Fi> not a man--and lieth, And a son of man--and repenteth! Hath He said--and doth He not do <FI>it<Fi> ? And spoken--and doth He not confirm it?

if we may confess our sins, stedfast He is and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from every unrighteousness;

and having been fully persuaded that what He hath promised He is able also to do:

and my God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus;

When thou passest into waters, I <FI>am<Fi> with thee, And into floods, they do not overflow thee, When thou goest into fire, thou art not burnt, And a flame doth not burn against thee.

so that if any one <FI>is<Fi> in Christ--<FI> he is<Fi> a new creature; the old things did pass away, lo, become new have the all things.

and if any of you do lack wisdom, let him ask from God, who is giving to all liberally, and not reproaching, and it shall be given to him;

He who is overcoming--this one--shall be arrayed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the scroll of the life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before His messengers.

be subject, then, to God; stand up against the devil, and he will flee from you;

`Have not I commanded thee? be strong and courageous; be not terrified nor affrighted, for with thee <FI>is<Fi> Jehovah thy God in every <FI>place<Fi> whither thou goest.'

No weapon formed against thee prospereth, And every tongue rising against thee, In judgment thou condemnest. This <FI>is<Fi> the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah, And their righteousness from me, an affirmation of Jehovah!

I profane not My covenant, And that which is going forth from My lips I change not.

He is giving power to the weary, And to those not strong He increaseth might.

Jehovah doth fight for you, and ye keep silent.'

An imagination supported Thou fortifiest peace--peace! For in Thee it is confident.

And we have known that to those loving God all things do work together for good, to those who are called according to purpose;

(not by works that <FI>are<Fi> in righteousness that we did but according to His kindness,) He did save us, through a bathing of regeneration, and a renewing of the Holy Spirit,
