Name In Vain

“You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain, for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

“‘You shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.

“You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain: for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

But above all things, my brothers, don’t swear, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your “yes” be “yes”, and your “no”, “no”; so that you don’t fall into hypocrisy.

He has sent redemption to his people. He has ordained his covenant forever. His name is holy and awesome!

Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Worship Yahweh in holy array.

A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold.

let them praise Yahweh’s name, for his name alone is exalted. His glory is above the earth and the heavens.

My mouth will speak the praise of Yahweh. Let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

Glory in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.

Praise Yahweh, my soul! All that is within me, praise his holy name!

It is a good thing to give thanks to Yahweh, to sing praises to your name, Most High;

I will give thanks to Yahweh according to his righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High.

You shall fear Yahweh your God; and you shall serve him, and shall swear by his name.

“‘You shall not give any of your children to sacrifice to Molech; neither shall you profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.

Our Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies is his name, the Holy One of Israel.

Yahweh’s name is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe.

Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.
