Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
'(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection; blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection; the second death has no power over them; they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years' - the first resurrection belongs only to the faithful; the second death (final judgment) has no authority over them. They are priests of God and Christ, serving in his eternal kingdom.
