Revelation
Revelation is the New Testament's final word, an apocalypse unveiled to John in exile on Patmos, dense with the imagery of the prophets and the worship of heaven. It opens with the risen Christ walking among seven lampstands, dictating letters to seven churches, and then the door of heaven opens onto a throne, a scroll, and a Lamb standing as though slain. Seals, trumpets, and bowls unfold judgment on a world in rebellion, while the martyrs cry, how long. Babylon falls, and the book crescendos in a wedding: a new heaven, a new earth, God dwelling with his people, every tear wiped away.
