ISAIAH 55:9 — KING JAMES VERSION 0 1
Isa 55:8Isa 55:10
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
The eschatological transformation—'For you shall go out in joy, and be led back in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall burst into song, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands'—depicts the return to Zion as joyful procession with creation participating. The contrast between going out in joy and being led back in peace suggests a complete transformation of the exile journey. The image of mountains singing and trees clapping hands personifies creation as rejoicing in restoration. This verse culminates the prophecy by depicting creation itself celebrating Israel's restoration.
