Gods Vengeance

not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath, for it hath been written, `Vengeance <FI>is<Fi> Mine,

Mine <FI>are<Fi> vengeance and recompense, At the due time--doth their foot slide; For near is a day of their calamity, And haste do things prepared for them.

God of vengeance--Jehovah! God of vengeance, shine forth.

`Thou dost not take vengeance, nor watch the sons of thy people; and thou hast had love to thy neighbour as thyself; I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah.

for we have known Him who is saying, `Vengeance <FI>is<Fi> Mine, I will recompense, saith the Lord;' and again, `The Lord shall judge His people;' --

And done upon them great vengeance with furious reproofs, And they have known that I <FI>am<Fi> Jehovah, In My giving out My vengeance on them!

for of God it is a ministrant to thee for good; and if that which is evil thou mayest do, be fearing, for not in vain doth it bear the sword; for of God it is a ministrant, an avenger for wrath to him who is doing that which is evil.

`Jehovah doth judge between me and thee, and Jehovah hath avenged me of thee, and my hand is not on thee;

Sing ye nations--<FI> with<Fi> his people, For the blood of His servants He avengeth, And vengeance He turneth back on His adversaries, And hath pardoned His land--His people.'

Say not, `As he did to me, so I do to him, I render to each according to his work.'
