God Caring For Widows

A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. — read the full passage →

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him: was not this to know me? saith the Lord.

He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
