Cherish

For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly;

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;

But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.

If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened.

Therefore his servants said to him, “Let there be sought for my lord the king a young virgin. Let her stand before the king, and cherish him; and let her lie in your bosom, that my lord the king may keep warm.”

Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
