Dishonest Gain

The people of the land have used oppression, And have taken plunder violently away, And humble and needy have oppressed, And the sojourner oppressed--without judgment.

Balances of deceit <FI>are<Fi> an abomination to Jehovah, And a perfect weight <FI>is<Fi> His delight.

Wealth from vanity becometh little, And whoso is gathering by the hand becometh great.

Its princes in its midst <FI>are<Fi> as wolves, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain.

A stedfast man hath multiplied blessings, And whoso is hasting to be rich is not acquitted.

`And thou--thou dost provide out of all the people men of ability, fearing God, men of truth, hating dishonest gain, and hast placed <FI>these<Fi> over them, heads of thousands, heads of hundreds, heads of fifties, and heads of tens,

and his sons have not walked in his ways, and turn aside after the dishonest gain, and take a bribe, and turn aside judgment.
