Curse

Christ did redeem us from the curse of the law, having become for us a curse, for it hath been written, `Cursed is every one who is hanging on a tree,'

And to the man He said, `Because thou hast hearkened to the voice of thy wife, and dost eat of the tree concerning which I have charged thee, saying, Thou dost not eat of it, cursed <FI>is<Fi> the ground on thine account; in sorrow thou dost eat of it all days of thy life,

No weapon formed against thee prospereth, And every tongue rising against thee, In judgment thou condemnest. This <FI>is<Fi> the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah, And their righteousness from me, an affirmation of Jehovah!

As a bird by wandering, as a swallow by flying, So reviling without cause doth not come.

Bless those persecuting you; bless, and curse not;

bless those cursing you, and pray for those accusing you falsely;

not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath, for it hath been written, `Vengeance <FI>is<Fi> Mine,

Let no corrupt word out of your mouth go forth, but what is good unto the needful building up, that it may give grace to the hearers;

If any one doth think to be religious among you, not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his heart, of this one vain <FI>is<Fi> the religion;

And Jehovah God saith unto the serpent, `Because thou hast done this, cursed <FI>art<Fi> thou above all the cattle, and above every beast of the field: on thy belly dost thou go, and dust thou dost eat, all days of thy life;

for `he who is willing to love life, and to see good days, let him guard his tongue from evil, and his lips--not to speak guile;

but now put off, even ye, the whole--anger, wrath, malice, evil-speaking, filthy talking--out of your mouth.

out of the same mouth doth come forth blessing and cursing; it doth not need, my brethren, these things so to happen;
