Psalms 120
Dwelling far from home among the hostile tents of Meshech and Kedar, the psalmist cries to the LORD against lying lips, lamenting that he is for peace while they are for war.
The first Song of Ascents, opening the pilgrim collection from a place of exile among hostile neighbors.
“1. The Psalm which we have just heard chanted, and have responded to with our voices, is short, and very profitable. You will not long toil in hearing, nor will you toil fruitlessly in working.
