“For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”
'Outside the city are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood' - those excluded from the city are characterized by persistent wickedness and deception. Like dogs (an ancient term of contempt), they remain outside God's presence.
