“The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.”
The psalmist observes 'The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, seeking their very lives.' The acknowledgment that the wicked actively pursue harm against the righteous introduces a new element of realism. The intensity of the pursuit—seeking their lives—indicates serious threat.
