“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.”
I lift up my eyes to the hills—from where will my help come? The Psalm of Ascent opens with the journey beginning: looking 'to the hills' (presumably toward Jerusalem) and asking for the source of 'help.' This verse establishes the structure: question and answer.
