“Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.”
Do not say, 'I'll do to him as he has done to me; I'll pay that man back for what he did.'—a warning against the vow of retaliation, establishing that such vows perpetuate cycles of harm.
