“What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;”
If a descendant of Aaron has a defiling skin disease or a bodily discharge, he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is cleansed. He will also be unclean if he touches something defiled by a corpse or if a man has an emission of semen. The specific conditions of ritual impurity that prevent the priest from eating the sacred offerings: defiling skin disease (chapters 13–14), bodily discharge (chapter 15), corpse-contact impurity (Leviticus 21:1–4), and semen emission (Leviticus 15:16).
