“I said, I shall not see the Lord, even the Lord, in the land of the living: I shall behold man no more with the inhabitants of the world.”
Hezekiah continues, describing his expectation that he would not see the LORD in the land of the living, that he would look upon the human race no more among those who dwell in the world. The reflection on the loss of earthly life emphasizes the finality of death from the earthly perspective.
