Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming; it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations—the underworld itself becoming active to receive the fallen Babylon king, with the deceased kings rising from their seats to witness his arrival. The stirring of the dead suggests that Babylon's king will be consigned to the realm of the dead, joining other conquered kings in humiliation.
