And the king took off his signet ring which he had given to Haman, and gave it to Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman, demonstrating the transfer of the symbol of royal authority from Haman to Mordecai and Esther's authority over Haman's estate. This transfer of the signet ring represents the transfer of delegated royal authority and places Mordecai in a position to exercise significant power within the Persian administrative structure.
