1 CORINTHIANS 16:8 — KING JAMES VERSION 0
1 Cor 16:71 Cor 16:9
But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.
But I will stay on at Ephesus until Pentecost — Paul specifies his current location (Ephesus) and duration of stay. Pentecost marks the liturgical calendar; he delays departure until after this Christian feast.

Church Fathers on 1 Corinthians 16:8

“But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.” As we should expect, he tells them all exactly, informing them as friends. For this too is a mark of friendship to say the reason why he was not with them, why he delayed, and where he was staying.
