For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures — Paul invokes the pre-Pauline kerygma (the 'received' creed), marking it as tradition of supreme importance (en protois).
