1. in cl. poets and late prose, blame, disgrace.
2. In LXX, perb. because of resemblance to a physical blemish (cf. ἄμωμος, 1Pe.1:19, and see Hort., in l); metaphorically, of licentious persons, 2Pe.2:13.†
