λόγος, -ου, ὁ (λέγω)

I. Of that by which the inward thought is expressed, Lat. oratio, sermo, vox, verbum.
1. a word, not in the grammatical sense of a mere name (ἔπος, ὄνομα, ῥῆμα), but a word as embodying a conception or idea: Mat.8:8, Luk.7:7, 1Co.14:9, 19 Heb.12:19, al.
