Multiple proverbs emphasize that the righteous are delivered by their righteousness while the treacherous are trapped by desire; that wisdom saves while the simple are destroyed; that the generous prosper while the stingy are impoverished, presenting generosity not as self-sacrifice but as aligned with how the LORD has structured blessing and cursing.
