Jesus says to Philadelphia: 'I know you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.' Despite weakness, they've maintained faithfulness. Jesus opens a door for them that no one can shut. He will make those who oppose them acknowledge that he loves them.
There's political subtext here. Philadelphia was a weak city. The churches were vulnerable. But Jesus is telling them their weakness isn't disqualifying. Their faithfulness matters more than their power. And the final verdict will vindicate them.
Jesus promises to keep them from the hour of trial that will come on the whole world. This isn't promising they'll escape difficulty. It's promising protection during tribulation. Like Noah in the flood. The trial happens, but they're kept safe through it.
