I'm a wedding planner, and I see the joy in people when they're celebrating love. There's something holy about it - the commitment, the community gathering, the feast.
John's image of the wedding supper of the Lamb extends that. Creation itself is the bride. God is throwing a party. And everyone's invited.
I've started talking about my work differently. I'm not just helping people throw parties. I'm facilitating experiences of grace, of community, of commitment. I'm practicing resurrection.
When I'm planning weddings now, I hold this vision - that every good celebration is a foretaste of the great wedding to come. That love is being rehearsed now for what love will be then.
