John sees an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the Abyss and a heavy chain in his hand. He seizes the dragon, the ancient serpent, and binds him for a thousand years. He throws him into the Abyss, closes and seals it over him to prevent him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years are ended.
John sees thrones where those who have been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus sit. They come to life and reign with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead don't come to life until the thousand years are ended.
Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them. They'll be priests of God and Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years. This is the millennial reign, a period of peace under Christ's rule.
