Abraham and Lot have accumulated so much livestock that the land can't sustain them both. Their success creates a resource problem.
There's something real about this - abundance can create conflict when space is limited. Abraham's generous solution (letting Lot choose first) is admirable, but it's also acknowledging a real constraint.
I work in nonprofits that often face this - we're successful at helping people, but capacity is limited. The generosity has to include honesty about limits.
