But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Jesus promises ongoing revelation, not just completed doctrine.
The Spirit will teach you. Will remind you. Will bring meaning. This suggests that understanding Scripture isn't about one-time interpretation. It's about ongoing relationship with the Spirit that brings fresh understanding. That's freed me from needing everything to make sense immediately.
