The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. The man's response to discovery is total. He reorganizes his entire life around finding the treasure he's glimpsed.
There's urgency here. Joy. It's not begrudging loss. It's joyful abandon. Finding what actually matters and organizing everything else around it. I think about what my treasure is—what would I be willing to sell everything for?
