John hears a loud voice telling the seven angels to go and pour out the seven bowls of God's wrath on the earth.
The first angel pours out his bowl on the land, and ugly, festering sores break out on people who have the mark of the beast and worship its image.
The second angel pours out his bowl on the sea, and it turns into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea dies.
The third angel pours out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they become blood. An angel says 'Just are you who is and who was, the Holy One, because you have so judged. For they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.'
The fourth angel pours out his bowl on the sun, and the sun is allowed to scorch people with fire. They're seared by the intense heat, but they curse the name of God who controls these plagues. They refuse to repent.
Judgment is specific and targeted. It affects those who've opposed God. Yet even under judgment, they don't repent.
