Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Luke uses a familial image: you're God's little flock, and the Father delights in giving you the kingdom.
It's not that the kingdom is something you have to earn or achieve. The Father is pleased to give it. The emphasis is on the giver's pleasure, not the recipient's worthiness. That reframes everything. I don't have to prove I deserve the kingdom. I just have to receive what the Father is delighted to give. That sounds simple but it's radically reorienting if you've lived in achievement mode.
