As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. This is extraordinary language. Paul is consigning false teachers to curse. Not just wrong. Accursed. Cut off. Separated from blessing. The gospel is that serious.
I'm a theology teacher, and I'm often pressured to see all religious paths as valid. But Paul doesn't allow that. He's saying: there's a gospel, and there are counterfeits. The counterfeits are deadly. They might look similar. They might have some truth. But if they replace grace with law, if they make the gospel fundamentally about human performance, they're accursed.
That's hard language, and I don't use it lightly. But I'm learning Paul's seriousness. The gospel is literally the good news about how to be saved. If you teach something else, you're not being religious or diverse. You're leading people away from their salvation. That warrants strong language. That warrants Paul's curse.
