The angel says to John 'These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.'
John hears 'Look, I'm coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy in this scroll.' John falls down to worship the angel who's shown him these things, but the angel says 'Don't do that! I'm a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!'
The assurance is given that what has been shown is true. The prophecy is real. The angel emphasizes again that blessing comes from keeping what's been written. And worship belongs to God alone, not to any angel or intermediary.
