I'm supposed to be subject to rulers - obey laws, respect authority. But that's not unconditional. I'm also supposed to remember my citizenship in God's kingdom.
I work in government and that tension is real. I follow the laws and the system, but I don't make it ultimate. God's kingdom is my real allegiance.
That's kept me honest. I serve my role but I'm not ultimately loyal to the state. I'm loyal to God.
