The Lord said to Moses: Make two trumpets of hammered silver. Use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out. The trumpets serve a practical purpose: they organize the community. One blast means gather. Two blasts mean march. The trumpet is the technology that holds the wilderness movement together. I work in corporate communications, and we're constantly trying to figure out how to reach everyone with important information. Emails get lost. Slack messages disappear. People don't read memos. But when something truly urgent needs attention, we've learned you have to reach people through multiple channels and sometimes you have to literally interrupt their day. The trumpet did that in the wilderness. You couldn't ignore it. You couldn't pretend you didn't hear it. The blast was unmistakable. Sometimes we all need a trumpet blast. Sometimes important signals need to cut through the noise. Sometimes clarity demands interruption.
