Moses says: if you seek the LORD your God with all your heart and soul, you will find him. Not: if you're good enough. Not: if you pray the right prayer. With all your heart and soul. Total commitment.
I was a halfhearted seeker for years. I believed in God, sure. I went to church. But I wasn't seeking Him with everything. I was seeking other things too - comfort, respectability, success - and expecting God to fit around those priorities.
When I finally got desperate enough, when circumstances stripped away everything else and left me alone with the need for God, I started seeking with actual intensity. And that's when I found Him in a real way. It wasn't that God had moved. It was that I finally showed up fully.
There's something about the wholeness of the seeking that matters. Partial seeking gets you doctrinal knowledge, church attendance, moral improvement. Full seeking gets you God Himself. The difference is enormous. I can teach people the former. I can't manufacture the latter. But I can tell them it's available. I can tell them I found it when I stopped hedging my bets.
