I'm not a pastor, I'm an accountant. But I've realized I'm called to share my faith whether or not anyone's asking. Not by being pushy, but by being visible - letting people know who I am and what I believe.
Paul's saying be ready when the opportunity comes, but also be ready when it doesn't. Keep the word alive in you regardless. Don't wait for the perfect moment or the willing audience. Just live like it's true and speak up when you can.
I've started doing this more deliberately. I'll mention my church or my faith in normal conversation. I'll offer to pray for people when they're struggling. It's awkward sometimes, but it's honest. And I've been surprised how many people are actually interested in talking about faith when someone brings it up unpretentiously.
