Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. An unjust judge keeps refusing a widow's request for justice. But she keeps coming, keeps asking. Eventually, the judge relents, not because she's right, but because she's so persistent.
If persistence can move an unjust judge, Jesus asks, won't God—who is just—respond to persistent prayer? The parable invites persistent asking. Not passive acceptance. Not 'God knows what's best' as an excuse not to ask. But wrestling prayer. Returning. Asking again. Insisting. The widow's persistence isn't weakness—it's power. It wears down injustice through sheer faithfulness.
