I'm a pastor ministering to people living in human trafficking networks. They're being abused constantly. They've been told they're worthless, that no one will believe them, that escape is impossible.
John says: they overcame by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Not by becoming strong in the conventional way. But by speaking what's true and trusting in God's redemption.
I've watched people in those networks find their voice. Find communities that believe them. Find Jesus in unexpected places - in a neighbor's kindness, in a support group, in the words of Scripture. And slowly, inch by inch, they overcome.
John's vision of overcoming isn't about victory through strength. It's about bearing witness to truth in the midst of lies, and trusting that truth matters.
