God says bring the whole tithe and test me on this. Open the floodgates of heaven and see if I won't pour out more blessing than you have room for. This is God inviting proof, inviting us to test His faithfulness.
Malachi's talking about giving, but in a way that inverts our usual thinking. Giving isn't a burden we're grudgingly supposed to carry. It's an investment, a test of trust, an opening to blessing. God's saying: put your trust in my generosity, give faithfully, and watch what happens.
I've watched people live this out. They give freely, trust God with provision, and they report that they've never gone without. That there's been abundance they didn't expect. Not through the mechanisms we'd normally use to build security, but through the simple operation of generosity meeting God's faithfulness. Malachi's not asking people to be stupid or naive. He's asking them to test what he's claiming. Let your giving become proof.
