Bezalel and the other craftspeople begin the work of building the tabernacle. Eventually, the people bring so much material that the workers tell Moses, 'The people are bringing more than enough for the service of the work.'
I was raised in scarcity mentality - more is needed, always stretch for more, what you have is never quite enough. Reading about a community bringing so much that the workers actually have to say 'stop, you've given plenty' was revolutionary.
I think about generosity differently now. It's not about guilt-driven giving, producing more, striving harder. Sometimes the most spiritual thing is to notice you have what you need and to rest in that sufficiency.
