The butler and baker imprisoned with Joseph have dreams. They're distressed about them. Joseph says: interpretations belong to God - tell me your dreams, and I'll help you understand them.
Joseph doesn't promise happy interpretations. He's acknowledging that meaning-making is God's work, but he's offering to help the other prisoners access that process.
I'm a therapist, and this verse frames my work. I don't give people meaning. They generate meaning, and I help them access it. Dreams, symptoms, the plots of their lives - the interpretation belongs to God. My job is to help people tell their story and listen for the meaning that's already there.
