God says: I'm making a new covenant. No longer written on tablets of stone, but on human hearts. Instead of external law, internal transformation. 'I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts.'
It's a shift from external compliance to internal alignment. You don't follow the rules because you're forced to. You follow them because they're written on your heart. You actually want to.
I grew up with external rules - lots of them. Do's and don'ts enforced by authority. And when I was old enough to question them, I threw them all off. But slowly I'm discovering that some of those values are actually written on my heart now. I want to live that way. That's different from external coercion. That's transformation.
