God tells Abraham not to be afraid - I'm your shield (protection) and your great reward (fulfillment). Both security and satisfaction are offered.
There's a wholeness in that - protection from external threat and internal satisfaction. Abraham is offered both safety and meaning.
When I'm anxious, I sometimes forget I can ask for both. I focus on either safety or meaning and neglect the other. God's offer is comprehensive.
