I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.' The mutual indwelling is key—you in me, me in you.
Not just you obeying me. But actual interpenetration. My life and your life woven together. Fruit comes from that union, not from effort. Apart from that union, nothing of actual spiritual significance happens.
