After months of flood, the text says: God remembered Noah. In the midst of judgment, the person in the boat is remembered.
My mother struggled with severe depression, and this verse mattered to her. When she felt utterly forgotten, when the darkness was total, she held onto the idea that someone was remembering her even if no one on earth was.
Remembrance is God's work in the text. Not rescue yet, not the waters receding yet. Just: I remember you. You're on my mind. That's enough to hold on for a while longer.
